Writespace is pleased to announce our 2023 summer interns! Help us welcome Jacob and Mayra! 

Jacob Myers

Jacob is a Junior at the University of Houston with a passion for storytelling and political history. While he's open to reading anything, his favorite genres are horror and Southern Gothic, especially when the two are combined. After graduation, he plans on applying to graduate school and expanding his literary horizon as much as possible.

Mayra Galvan

Mayra is a senior at the University of Houston-Downtown pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing and a minor in Digital Media. She is interning at Write Space and is excited to be a part of this organization to expand her knowledge with what she learned in school and learn more about literary arts and connect with writers and authors all around this beautiful city. Her passions are God, traveling, and photography. Mayra is a mom to a five year old miniature schnauzer named Houston and he has been a blessing in her life. One of her goals in life is to work in publishing and open her own publishing company.
