Through our mentors and editors, Writespace offers a variety of services of interest to writers, students, and anyone who needs to polish up a piece of writing. Some of our specialities include:
- Mentoring - Offering guidance on all aspects of writing, including craft, process, and career
- Developmental editing - Supporting the deep structure of a piece, such as plot and characterization in fiction, organization and generation of ideas in nonfiction, and voice and line breaks in poetry
- Copy editing and line editing - Polishing a work of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry for publication
- Writing coaching - Offering inspiration and accountability to help writers complete their goals
- Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing applications - Assisting with development and line editing of creative submission, critical essay, and resume
- College application essays - Assisting with generation and development of ideas, as well as fine-tuning thoroughly revised essays before submission to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate programs
- Query letters and synopses - Assisting with development and editing of query letters, book synopses, and other materials in preparation for submitting completed work to an agent

Information for Young Writers
Many of our editors offer writing coaching services for young writers. If your child or teen is a gifted writer who doesn't get as many chances to develop their talents as they deserve, considering hiring a writer coach! We will adapt our curriculum to suit your child or teen’s interests and passions.

Pricing and Payment
Please download our New Client Information Sheet. We can charge both by the hour and by the page, depending on the nature of your project. Your editor will share an estimate with you after determining the needs of the project. Writespace members receive a 15% discount on all editing fees.
Payment plans and discounted rates are available at the editor’s discretion. We accept payment by credit/debit card and eCheck. We do not accept cash payments. Once you have signed a contract with an editor, you will receive detailed payment information.

- Rush Fees: Varies by project starting at $20/day
- Travel Fee: Over 5 miles, $2/mile
Other Details:
- Per industry standards, one page is equal to 250 words.
- All Writespace members receive 15% off the total project cost.
- For new clients, a 50% deposit is required by most editors.
