Kinza Muzahir
Kinza Muzahir is a producer, strategist and writer who has produced campaigns in gaming, public media, commercial, and narrative spaces. Kinza also a member of the Asian American Documentary Network, and is currently a strategist for the UX team at BrandExtract, a brand consultancy with a national footprint. Her portfolio includes Crocs, Houston Public Media, Aurora Picture Show and Public Poetry, amongst others.
Kinza uses the principles of media technologies, strong research and interdisciplinary art to speak to relevant audiences through accessible interactive, cross-platform strategies. Her work is rooted in the artistic and sociological appreciation of the depth and wonder of the human condition. Through it, she explores how geographies shape people and, consequently, communities. A strong technical and conceptual academic foundation in narrative frameworks fuels her passion for design and immersive technologies, yet her process always starts on the page. Ever a poet, her lens is influenced by storytelling to create experiences through literary and visual devices. Kinza can often be found illustrating or recording in her studio during the day, and performing at open mics at night. Say hi to her at kinzam.com.

Kinza is a strong believer in creating bad art, first drafts, and rough outlines, and following that with exercising theory and the playground approach to collaborative learning. While talking about how to craft pieces is an essential part of being inspired, that inspiration is malleable, often fleeting. It’s beneficial to use it as energy to power a workshop and conduct hands-on practical exercises to build confidence and comfort with new skills. Especially when it comes to writing for formats and social platforms that evolve, it’s useful to be comfortable and familiar with them to problem solve as media landscapes change. Only way to do that is to take a deep breath and…do it!
