Ynes Freeman
Ynes Freeman has more than 10 years of experience in publishing and has guided nearly 1,500 authors through the publishing process. She started her career in publishing as an editor and three years later, she began managing her own team. She then transitioned into publications marketing and promotions, where she enjoyed designing strategies to grow audience engagement and increase sales and subscriptions.
In 2018, she left traditional publishing to pursue her passion of helping new and emerging writers find as much magic in “the business side of writing” as they do when crafting their stories.
She is owner and CEO of Balance of Seven LLC, a Texas-based small press, as well as leader of Creative Central, a positive, uplifting online community made up of 850+ women and LBGTQIA writers.
Ynes is also a gothic fiction author, with published work in several of her press’s anthologies, including the #1 Amazon Bestseller Rogues and Wild Fire and Winter Whimsy, winner of the 2019 International Book Awards (Fiction: Anthologies) as well as the 2019 Texas Authors Best Fiction Book (YA Middle School Shorts). She is working on her first round of edits for her debut novel, “A Viper in the Court.” Visit her online at www.balanceofseven.com.

Student Testimonials
“It is an outstanding person indeed who can take complex marketing and business concepts and explain them in a way that will make sense to someone from as far outside that field as myself. I have taken modest follower engagement (e.g., 3 to 5 likes per post) and turned it into robust and growing engagement (20 to 30 likes, sometimes many more). Simply put, Ynes is amazing and I can't thank or praise her enough.” – Dr. Nyri Bakkalian, military historian & award-winning author
"Ynes is a passionate teacher who ensures students delve deep within themselves to truly find the hard-to-answer questions. I would not have the confidence or a real social media presence without her assistance." – Summer Paige, speculative fiction author
“Ynes knows so much about so many aspects of the writing and publishing processes. She speaks clearly and confidently on everything from color theory to branding to titles and more. Her integrity is incredibly high and her passion is helping writers hone their brand and achieve whatever their goals might be.” – Kristine Haecker, contemporary women’s fiction author

Teaching Philosophy
Anyone can teach marketing tactics—formulas, funnels, list growth, and so on. I teach marketing strategy. At the end of the day, your tactics are only ever as good as your strategy.
