Attention, Essential Workers!
We are making our 100% scholarships available to any length of workshop for essential workers, as a thank you and acknowledgement of the danger you've faced during the coronavirus pandemic. It's our hope that we can offer you a chance to focus on your writing and the act of telling your story.
We are defining essential workers as anyone who has risked exposure to the virus as they helped provide food and healthcare during the pandemic, including but not necessarily limited to:

Writespace staff will reach out for proof of your position within 1-3 says: pay stubs, contact information for supervising manager, etc.

- Nurses, doctors, and hospital staff
- Grocery store workers
- Delivery drivers, couriers, mail carriers
- Restaurant wait staff
- Factory workers

Writespace offers three tiers of scholarships:
For partial scholarships (50% & 75%), writers are eligible to receive one workshop scholarship per quarter. Writespace has four quarters per year (January through March, April through June, July through September, October through December), so writers can receive up to four partial scholarships per year.
For full (100%) scholarships, writers are only eligible to receive one workshop scholarship per calendar year (January - December). Applicants are welcome to reapply throughout the year until they receive an acceptance.
To apply, please fill out the scholarship application below, and we will inform you regarding the status of your application within a few days. Applicants who apply several weeks in advance for a scholarship for a specific workshop will be given priority.

- 50% scholarships are the most readily available and may be applied to any length of workshop.
- 75% scholarships are available for those who demonstrate serious financial need and may be applied to any length of workshop.
- 100% scholarships are of extremely limited availability and are currently only available for three-hour workshops (with the exception of essential workers--see above). These scholarships are awarded based on financial need and writing ability as demonstrated in the application form.
