      Houston’s sprawling urban environment provides an astounding number of chances for poetic inspiration.  We’ll look at contemporary examples of poets creating energetic, lovely, and/or rich poetry in response to large American cities.  We’ll also create a method of engaging the best practices of journaling, lists, and word-menus to give you basis for your own poetic practice in this city.  We’re going to wake up your vision of daily life so that you may discover the endless new poems that await you!
