The Prodigy Truth
Tony-Lydia McKinney "The Prodigy Truth" is black non-binary performing artist, writer, and domestic violence survivor based in Houston, Texas. They are a poetry slam finalist in both San Antonio (2022, 2023) and Houston, Texas (2022, 2024). T. Lydia attended Texas State University, where they majored in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre. They previously worked for the State of Texas, having served as a child abuse investigator, residential instructor, support professional for the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and also worked as a LIVESTRONG instructor for YMCA Southwest Austin. T. Lydia now serves a meditative guide and practitioner, full-time writer, performing artist, and speech and debate consultant for secondary and post-secondary students across Texas. They have been previously published in Querencia Press' Winter 2023 and trans/non-binary anthologies, Spotlight Poetry's Young, Gifted, and Black anthology, and Blunt Space Inc. T. Lydia wants everyone to know, "It is okay to love yourself without apology. It is your right. I believe in you."
