April Lim
I am a full-time adult and part-time poet working on becoming a full-time poet and part-time adult. I live in a perpetual state of tired and the city of Houston with my three cats, and currently work for an IT & Solutions company. I'm excited to fill up both my time with Writespace workshops and my never-ending stream of gifted journals.
My current work in poetry revolves around diaspora and my process in reclaiming the fallen cultural pieces of my family's history as survivors of the Cambodian Genocide. I hope to have a chapbook out in the next three to four years. When I am not editing technical papers or writing poetry, folks can find me in the midst of internal chaos, attempting to organize community literary events in Houston.

I'm an aspiring writer who was born and raised in Houston, Texas who, during my free time, tries my best to attend events from fellow Houston artists. I'm obsessed with the psychological and gothic horror genres in all artistic formats, including but not limited to books, video games, and movies. Currently, I'm working on turning a short story into a horror novel, as well as a chapbook of poems.
Art in general is a stress outlet for me, including attending exhibits (my favorites include work from Dan Flavin), theater shows that feature work by my friends, and supporting my fellow poet friends by attending their spoken word performances at Write About Now. In my free time, I sleep in late and cuddle with my cats (I am, after all, a crazy cat lady), and play video games or [try to] catch up on my reading.
