Writespace is blessed with a wonderful group of volunteers and interns who are constantly looking for ways to give back. It’s great to have such a supportive community of writers in Houston! One such new volunteer is Christina Escamilla, a local blogger and publisher. Christina runs her own website and publishing company, helps to manage new writing anthologies, and still manages to help out around Writespace.
We’re pleased to announce that if you head over to the Christina Escamilla Publishing website and register for the International Write Fight Writers Contest, not only will you have the chance to win prizes up to $1000, and receive the opportunity to have your work published, you’ll also be giving back to Writespace! 10% of the proceeds from the contest will go directly to Writespace.
The International Write Fight was born out of the desire to encourage writers to challenge themselves in unique and creative ways. We hope to turn this into an annual summer competition, where each year’s challenge is entirely different! The contest ends May 31st. Winners will be announced August 5th, 2015.
