“Could you change the ink ribbon in our new typewriter?” Purchased on the fly, our adorable 1961 portable typewriter needed some love. Tyler changed the ink ribbon, cleaned up the ink smudges left on the machine, and had begun our love letter even before I thought to ask him.
There was plenty left to do. There was beer and wine to ice, raffle baskets to set out, a table to be filled with a minor feast, and love letter writing notebooks and pens to set on every seat, Sometimes I asked for a task to be accomplished and it was done even before I knew that someone had started it. It was as if Writespace had been descended on by a pack of angels.
